The Gift of Coffee!

Coffee is THE GREAT UNIFIER, making it an excellent gift to send to your friends or loved ones.

  • The US has the world's largest coffee market, with revenues over $80 billion!
  • The US consumes about 400 million cups of coffee per day, which is about three cups per person
  • This amounts to 146 billion cups of coffee consumed per year, or about nine pounds per person (but who's counting?).
  • Coffee has a particular ability to Bring People Together.  "Let's grab coffee together" - I'm sure you've said or heard this many times!
  • Coffee is one of the most common beverages consumed in cars, which makes good travel mugs a necessity.
  • Some say that the best time to drink coffee is between 9:30 am and 11 am, when cortisol levels start to drop and the effects of caffeine are strongest.
  • Some people find the physical work of brewing their own coffee therapeutic (...and that heavenly smell!).

And now you know why COFFEE-THEMED GIFTS are a Fabulous Choice for you to give!

DID YOU KNOW?

There have been instances in history where coffee was banned or faced restrictions!
-   One notable example is the brief prohibition of coffee in the Ottoman Empire during the 16th century. Sultan Murad IV, concerned about the social gatherings and discussions taking place in coffeehouses, which he saw as potential centers of political dissent, issued a decree banning coffee. Punishments for violating the ban ranged from severe beatings to death!

-   Similarly, in the 17th century, coffeehouses in England faced scrutiny from authorities who viewed them as places where political dissent and subversive ideas were fostered. King Charles II even tried to suppress coffeehouses, fearing they were hotbeds of sedition. However, these attempts were largely unsuccessful, and coffeehouses continued to thrive.

Thank goodness, right?? 😄
